Click here Being Resourceful...And Being A Resourceful Human Being#41 Meee Moments (November 2022) A very Happy November lovely people! October was a warm, wet and cold mixture of weather. A bit like the political landscape!!! So, for this wonderful month of November we're going to explore Being Resourceful and Being a Resourceful Human Being. And how we can make more of what we have, and find even more of the good stuff. Here's to a refreshingly resourceful November...
Thank You...Lucy John (pictured) had a brilliant mantra: Lucy sadly died on Sunday the 16th of October while out riding her bicycle. Lucy was one of life's truly magical people, a true Magic Maker, and in the short time we knew her left a very positive mark on the lives of us and many, many more. Lucy's mantra will live with us forever and the way she lived her life will be a wonderful reminder to Live, Love and to Learn. Our love and thoughts are with you Lucy, your family and all those that your life touched. xxx
The Tapestry of Life...Thanks to Lucy we're now more determined to be the change we want to see in the world. And I recently came across a wonderful word 'ubuntu'. A Nguni Bantu term meaning 'humanity'. The story goes that an Anthropologist proposed a game to some African tribal children. He placed a basket of sweets near a tree and made the children stand 100 meters away. Then announced that whoever reached first would get all the sweets in the basket. When he said 'ready steady go!' do you know what these children did? They all held each other's hands, ran together towards the tree, divided the sweets equally among themselves, ate the sweets and enjoyed it. When the Anthropologist asked them why they did so, they answered 'ubuntu'. Which meant 'How can one be happy when the others are sad?'. Ubuntu in their language means - 'I am because we are!' Let all of us always have this attitude and spread happiness wherever we go. We all make up this tapestry of life. Let's celebrate what we all bring, together. And not forget that we all stand on the shoulders of giants. xxx Finding the Joy...We love finding the joy in everything and everyone. And Mushy is a beautiful example. Musharaf Asgar, aka Mushy, became famous when he overcame his stammer with the help of his English teacher, Mr Burton, on Channel 4's 'Educating Yorkshire'. Mushy used the resources available to him at school, he listened to his teachers and gave it a go. Mushy has turned around his perceived weakness and made it his greatest strength. Mushy has been living his magic and sharing it with people all around the world. And does it with such brilliant humour and joy. “There is always a process from first attempt to proficiency, and it's never a straight line. Nothing stays the same forever, so embrace the change and just try.” Taken from Chapter 2, 'JUST TRY IT' from the 'Meee In A Work Minute' book: Here's a thought...What perceived weakness do you feel you have that you could overcome and turn into your greatest strength?
Getting to Know You...When we think about education we tend to recall our days at school or college. Yet life is full of education, full of learning, full of resources. Life is loaded with the good stuff. We just need to find it. And, more importantly want to find it. The more we use our wonderful resource of being curious, the more we learn, connect and be a part of this world. November Meee Exercise: Then have a look at what is influencing your life and think about whether they are positive or not. If some of them are not then think about what resources you can add to make your life more positive. :) So now the clocks have gone back (we loves that extra hour in bed) how about you increase your knowledge to give you that extra edge on life?
