Draft Waste Wise Policy
Our Waste Wise Events Policy helps minimise waste and litter at events. This includes prohibiting the use of plastics at Council-run events or events held on Council land. A draft version of the policy is available for community feedback until Monday 29 July.
Get involved, connect with local people and build community pride. Residents are invited to make a difference in their suburb as part of the ‘Love Where You Live’ initiative in 2019. We have seven new community projects that we need your help to deliver. Members of these working groups must live, work, study or play in the local area.
Have you had your flu shot?
Flu vaccines help to protect you, your loved ones and the community. It is particularly important to protect vulnerable members of our community and Council offers FREE flu shots to those under five, over 65, pregnant women and their partners. Find a Council immunisation session near you this winter.
Retired or semi-retired and passionate about learning? The University of the Third Age (U3A) offers more than 60 courses in a supportive community environment. Frankston U3A is settling into its new home at Karingal Place from Monday 15 July
Our office wellness dog, Odie, has been busy these past few months, making not just Council staff happy but the whole Frankston City community! In May, a quick hello to swimmers at PARC, a trip to Frankston Regional Recycling Centre and Carrum Downs Library for National Simultaneous Storytime kept Odie busy. Then off to Frankston Arts Centre’s Cube 37 to help promote kids’ art competition, the Grand Pawtrait Prize in June. Odie also joins the staff running club every Wednesday lunchtime and can be spotted in many well-known locations around the city.
