Birdies For Charity Recap
Thanks to your donations and support through the Farmers Insurance Open's Birdies For Charity program, we are happy to report that the SDJGA received a total of $23,404 in charitable contributions. Additionally, we expect to receive approx. 11% or just under $14,000 from the match pool offered by the Century Club and Farmers Insurance. This money will be used to aid in the sponsorships of players, to provide more scholarship opportunities, and to offset grees fees and provide an enhanced tournament experience for all members. Thank you to all those donors who helped make our inagural year in this program a success.

Junior Pacific Cup
|
 |
|
The journey to reclaim the Junior Pacific Cup took our team back to Australia in 2013. Unfortunately the Aussies' play proved to be too much for the jet-lagged San Diego team to overcome. Team Australia retained the Cup, winning in convincing fashion by a score of 13 - 5. But the trip wasn't a total loss, as Team USA got to experience sightseeing, fun, and life down under. However, next year should be a different story as Team Australia makes their way back to the states for an event that promises not to dissappoint.

The Charley Hoffman Foundation Pro-Am on Torrey Pines North Course and Charity Party at the Belly Up in Solana Beach were a HUGE success this year. Both events raised a total of $110,000 for the SDJGA. The Pro-Am participants included Charley Hoffman, Rickie Fowler, John Mallinger, Luke List, Andres Gonzalez, Ricky Barnes, Peter Tomasulo, Kevin Chappell. Michael Bradley, Martin Laird, Graham DeLaet, James Driscoll, Jonas Blixt, Chez Reavie, Derek Ernst, Colt Knost and Gary Woodland. The party the evening before at the Belly was a ton of fun as guests mingled with PGA TOUR professionals and enjoyed the music of Kelly James.
“I am grateful that I am in a position to give back to the SDJGA through my foundation and partnership with the Farmers Insurance Open and PGA TOUR. Junior golf was an important part of my childhood and I treasure the memories and friendships I made along the way. I am thankful for the opportunities I had through the SDJGA and I want to be a part of making sure the next generation of junior golfers have the same great experiences.” - Charley Hoffman

Your Path To College Golf
As many junior golfers age into their teens, the concept of eventually playing college golf transforms into a realistic objective. In order to avoid falling behind or making costly financial mistakes it is important to understand the steps of this process before your child becomes an active participant in it. That is why we have developed Your Path To College Golf information platform. This resource will provide information that you can use to not only educate yourself on the rules and meticulous details of the recruiting process, but also hear advice from those who have been there and done that as well as some basic do's and don't's you may find helpful along the way. We strongly encourage anyone who has experience or advice they would like to offer to contribute to this forum so that we may share it with our SDJGA community. For more information you can visit our
page by clicking Your Path To College Golf or submit any questions or comments to andrew@sdjga.org.
