QUEENSLAND CHAPTER | JULY 2014

Editorial

Dear FACCI members and friends,

It was great to see so many of you at the festivities around Bastille Day, and thank you for your support! I was very pleased that Julia Zemiro was able to stay and chat with many of us after the breakfast, and I've seen lots of photos circulating of people who took advantage of the opportunity. If you have not had the chance to view any photos, you will find the link to our Facebook photo album below.

We are now looking ahead to our events before the G20 comes to Brisbane. These include gatherings, both formal and informal for our Young Professionals and Individuals in August, as well as an evening reception with a General Manager at Santos | GLNG, hosted by CBA, and our Oil & Gas Industry Forum, hosted by ANZ in September. As usual, you will find further information on these events below.

In this month's newsletter, you will also meet our Corporate member Adriaan Jooste, General Manager at Duons Australia. Follow the link to read the full interview on FACCI's website.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that as a non-profit organisation, your support is essential to the running of the Chamber's activities and events. Following Bastille Day, we would like to offer companies who are considering becoming new members or upgrading their membership to the Corporate level, a promotion of a 25% discount. This offer will run until September 15th, after which the rates will revert to FACCI's standard membership rate of $2,000 + GST, so now might be a good time to take the step up.

Onwards and upwards into the second half of the year - I look forward to seeing you at some of these events.

Cordialement,

Brian Lorigan
President

PAST EVENTS

Great Success for 2014 Bastille Day Business Breakfast

The French-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's Queensland Chapter held its annual Bastille Day Business Breakfast on Friday July 11 at the prestigious Sofitel Brisbane Central.

As a prelude to a successful morning, members and guests networked over coffee and champagne provided by Single Vineyard Sellers and Nespresso. This year, we had the privilege of receiving members of the Brisbane Chorale before welcoming Julia Zemiro as guest speaker. Julia entertained the audience by presenting cross-cultural differences between French and Australian culture.

The occasion has brought the French and Australian business communities together once again, and we hope all attendees took away new, or strengthened, long-lasting business relationships.

Many thanks to our main sponsors Air France, Sofitel Brisbane Central, Nespresso and Single Vineyard Sellers, without whom this event would not have been possible. Finally, a special thank to our raffle sponsors Nespresso, Libertine Parfumerie, Sofitel Brisbane Central, Traders Hotels, Absynthe Restaurant and Single Vineyard Sellers, who gave away exciting prizes.
