International Culture Week

We look forward to next week when we invite all parents to join our efforts in introducing the students to the cultural diversity of AEA.

During International Culture Week you are encouraged to bring items representing your culture (e.g. costumes, artwork, mythology images, history booklets, posters), pay a visit to your children’s classes, and bring a national dish. We will also have a presentation of Irish Dancers on Friday morning. Below you can find detailed information about AEA International Culture Week.

Classroom Projects

With the end of the quarter, fifth graders are ready with their first book project: "Bridge to Terabithia". The novel is written by Katherine Paterson, and focuses on the sweet friendship of a tween boy and girl who share imaginative play, creating a world of their own just a rope swing away, far from the school bullies they face.

During the last few weeks, our students in Grade 4 were busy. They were preparing to move us back in the past, and introduce to all their classmates the Native American Tribes. It took them a few days to create these beautiful dioramas, but as you can see by yourself – we are really proud of the result of their project!

AEA Library Enrichment

We are thrilled to showcase our new library additions that we were able to purchase with our Scholastic Book Club points. Thanks to your purchases, our library collection is increasing and becoming more up-to-date. The titles were selected based on student recommendations and requests.

Your support in updating our book collection is invaluable and please stay tuned for more library-related events and fundraisers. If you have any suggestions or would like to help Ms Beatrix transform the library to a learning commons space, please let us know.

'Invisible Strings' Film Viewing Invitation

Never Know Productions and Mr David Hawthorne (our ELA and Philosophy teacher) is pleased to invite you to the pre-Christmas screening of the long-running documentary Invisible Strings on December 2, 2019. David is the screenwriter and editor of this film.

Invisible Strings reaped success after its world premiere. It was selected from film festivals on five continents and awarded the Planet Award at the world’s oldest environmental film festival, Barcelona International Environmental Film Festival (FICMA).
Invisible Strings is a documentary that reveals the connection and relationship we have to Earth. The movie is a contemporary look at problems that have been part of our society for centuries: wars, class and ethnic division, religious hostility.
