Story Time

Welcome to Meee Moments #79 – STORY!

As we begin 2026, we’re turning the page to a new chapter, and what better time to reflect on the stories that shape us.

This month, we’re exploring the power of STORY, not just the ones we tell out loud, but the ones we live silently, the ones we inherit, rewrite, and pass on.

As we open this new year, let’s remember: we are all storytellers.

Every day is a chance to create a moment worth remembering, through kindness, courage, compassion, or creativity.

Here’s to new beginnings, meaningful chapters, and the stories still to come. Here’s to 2026.

The image above is of a journal I’ve started keeping, filled with the wonderful drawings my children have made for me. I date each entry so that one day, they’ll be able to look back and see the story of our life together, the laughter, the lessons, and the love.

On the left is a skateboard design by Freddie, and next to it, a simple stick-figure drawing of me and him. I just LOVE their creativity!

“We tell ourselves stories in order to live.”
Joan Didion

“What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.”
Pericles

Apologies, but these were two scrummy quotes that just had to make it in!

Just Meee Podcast #64 – Looking Ahead

Just Meee Podcast | Looking Ahead to 2026

Honouring Lives Well Lived

In 2025, we said goodbye to extraordinary individuals whose voices left a mark on the world, and on all of us:

Jane Goodall, Environmentalist and global voice for nature.
Robert Redford, Actor, activist, and champion of independent film.
Tom Stoppard, Legendary playwright who believed theatre should entertain.
Ozzy Osbourne, Rock icon whose influence reached far beyond music.
Felix Baumgartner, Fearless skydiver who expanded the edge of human possibility.
Dame Cleo Laine, Chris Rea, Brian Wilson, Artists whose music became the backdrop of our lives.
Diane Keaton, Brigitte Bardot, Gene Hackman, Patricia Routledge, Legends whose performances helped shape our collective story.

These aren’t just names, they’re stories.

Stories of courage, creativity, vision, and vulnerability. They remind us that a life well lived is one that leaves behind a light for others to follow.

We also honour Chris and Sarra Hoy, whose documentary Cancer, Courage and Me reminded us of love’s endurance, and how compassion can become a legacy.

Their journey is a testament: You don’t have to be loud to be powerful. Presence is enough.

As we step into 2026, we ask:
What story will you choose to tell?
What legacy will you leave, not in headlines, but in hearts?

#64 – Looking Ahead to 2026

“In three words I can sum up everything I’ve learned about life: it goes on."
Robert Frost

If You Could Choose Three Words, What Would They Be?

If you had to describe your life in just three words, what would they be?

It’s a simple question, but it holds surprising power.

Would your words reflect your past, anchor you in the present, or offer hope for the future? Are they shaped by what you’ve lived through, who you are today, or who you still hope to become?

For me, it’s: “I really tried.”

Not perfect, not always successful, but wholehearted. And maybe, that’s enough.

Your three words might be:
“Still becoming me.”
“Here and now.”
“Letting it go.”
“Joy over fear.”

Take a minute to choose yours.

Let them be your compass, your comfort, or your challenge. Because in a world full of noise, three honest words can tell a powerful story.

We’d love to hear your three words, send them to us at: story@meee.global

“Morality binds and blinds. It binds us into teams that circle around sacred values, but it also blinds us to the morality of other teams.”
Dr Jonathan Haidt, The Righteous Mind

What Divides Us, and What Unites Us

In his powerful book The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion, Dr Jonathan Haidt reminds us that division is often not about right or wrong, but about deeply held values, identity, and story.

Books tell stories, but some, like this one, reveal how the stories themselves are formed.
Why do we believe what we believe?
Why do we clash when others think differently? And most importantly, how can we learn to listen?

This month’s podcast also celebrates The Rest Is History, a brilliant series by Tom Holland and Dominic Sandbrook that brings to life the stories that shaped humanity, showing how a single event can ripple through generations.

As Haidt reminds us: We are far more united than divided. So this month, take a minute to reflect:

What divides you, and what unites you?

Write down 5 things you can change to become more open, less judgemental, and more connected.

And if you like, send them to us at: story@meee.global, we’d love to hear.

“Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.”
Henry Ford

Tea with TED

One of the simplest (and cheapest!) ways to stay young in mind and spirit is to keep learning, and TED Talks are one of the best places to start.

Born in 1984 as a conference for Technology, Entertainment and Design, TED has since become a global platform for sharing ideas that change minds, hearts and lives.

With over 4,000 talks under 18 minutes, there’s something for everyone, science, psychology, the arts, education, innovation, climate, and humanity.

If you’re not sure where to begin, just head to TED.com and explore by topic, or simply pick a title that catches your eye. You never know what might inspire you.

Try watching one talk a day, with your morning cuppa, or during lunch, and see what stirs your curiosity. Your next big shift might be just one talk away.

P.S. Our founder Sid even did a TEDx talk on Meee back in 2016!

Let us know what talks inspire you: story@meee.global

Maya Angelou

What If!

What if you gave yourself permission to pause, to listen for the story beneath the noise, the one that’s truly yours?

What if this season wasn’t just about reflection, but about reclaiming your narrative, the values you hold, the experiences that shaped you, and the dreams still waiting to unfold?

The My Meee app is here to help you do just that.

With reflective tools, mood tracking, and thoughtful prompts, it’s a gentle companion to help you explore your inner voice, make sense of your journey so far, and write the next chapter with more clarity and purpose.

Because your story matters.

Not the perfect one. The real one.

This season, reconnect with the truth of who you are, and the story you’re here to tell.

Let the My Meee app support you, one moment, one word, one choice at a time.
