And we know you need access to credible information to help you make the best choices for your family, staff, customers and the greater community at this time. That’s why we are monitoring the most up-to-date information supplied by Federal, State and Local Government and collating it on our dedicated Central Coast COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Official Information and Advice website page. The page includes trusted links on: HEALTH ADVICE BUSINESS AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT You’ll also find links to information from Safe Work NSW, Fair Trading and the Small Business Commissioner regarding safe work practices, employer obligations, business continuity, cashflow problems and consumer rights. WHAT’S HAPPENING LOCALLY ………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….. As a nation we are being called to stay home for the greater good. So coming together as a regional community to overcome adversity will look different in the days ahead. However, we can still support each other and local business from home. Many local businesses are adapting to the restrictions by modifying their product lines, service offerings and distribution methods with solutions such as online ordering, take away options and home delivery services. They are responding to the changes as they occur, the best they can. So for now, supporting local business is all about picking up the phone, or jumping online to order products or services from our local businesses. And where possible, asking them for home delivery or safe pick up options from their premises. It is essential during these challenging times for the Central Coast to come together and show what it really means to be a regional community, supporting one another to overcome adversity when times are tough. Now is the time to be especially aware of our responsibility to protect the vulnerable sectors of our community – the aged, people living with sickness or people living with disability - and to take extra measures to ensure they are not ignored or disadvantaged by current circumstances. Now is the time for calm, control and kindness. It is the time to make conscious decisions about supporting one another, so that as a community we can emerge from these crises stronger than before. Our actions and decisions today will determine the success of the whole of our regional community in the years ahead. We are in this together. Phil Walker Local Support CampaignLast week, we launched a #localsupportcampaign on our Instagram account to assist local businesses through these times. Since then the Federal and State Governments have shut down non-essential services including restaurants, cafes, pubs and clubs, and put restrictions on other services including hairdressers and beauty salons, boot camps, weddings and funerals. As the situation continues to unfold, there is potential for further closures and restrictions. However we will continue to share the stories of local business as they adapt and innovate to the evolving climate. Follow along and show your support |
