Viagra Goes Generic in U.S.

Generic versions of the erectile dysfunction (ED) drug Viagra are now available in the United States, giving men a less expensive - but still effective - treatment option.

The drugs contain sildenafil citrate, the active ingredient in Viagra. While the generic pills will look different from name-brand Viagra, they perform the same way and are expected to be just as effective.

Like its name-brand counterpart, generic Viagra is available only by prescription and is not appropriate for all patients.

Hope for Genital Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes scaly, itchy, and sometimes painful patches to form on the skin. It can develop anywhere on the body, including the genitals.

Genital psoriasis can take a toll on a person's sex life. Sex may become uncomfortable, and many people feel self-conscious and anxious in front of a partner, especially if they are in a new relationship.

There might be some good news, however. A drug called ixekizumab is often prescribed for general psoriasis, and a recent trial showed that it could benefit people with genital psoriasis, too.
