Well done Class 7!

This afternoon, Class 7 educated and entertained the whole school as they presented their special assembly. The performance was multi-faceted and the key focus was 'Healthy Humans'.

Well done to Miss Liversidge, Mr Marriott and all the boys and girls - an excellent way to end the week in school!

Confirmation Service in Holy Trinity

A reminder that a special Confirmation Service will be held in Holy Trinity Church on Sunday morning, beginning at 10.30am. Eight children from our school, plus others from Over Kellet, will be confirmed by the Bishop of Blackburn. the Rt Revd Julian Henderson.

Everyone is invited to this service as these young people become communicant members of the Church of England.

Building project developments ...

There has been considerable progress 'behind the scenes' re our project to construct a new classroom. Lancaster City Council have approved our amended plans, Blackburn Diocese and the school governors have approved the capital expenditure, a main contractor (Moduplan Ltd) has been appointed, the FOBLES have agreed to support the build and a formal pre-start meeting was held yesterday.

Work will begin during half-term when internal remodelling and groundworks will be undertaken. It is hoped that the build will be complete by the end of term - this is dependent on good weather and an absence of snags!

A main focus of the pre-start meeting was the health and safety of all members of the school community. Considerable steps will be taken to separate the building works from the staff and children. Any additional information will be shared with parents when necessary.

Finally, there will be times when contractors lorries and vehicles need to access the site and this will put additional pressure on car parking in and around school. It would therefore be great if parents do not park around school, especially on Bolton Lane, during peak times.

Boxes of Hope Christmas Shoe box Appeal

Thank you to those of you who have already sent in filled shoe boxes in support of the Boxes of Hope charity. Your gifts will help soem very disadvantaged children enjoy some Christmas cheer.

The Boxes of Hope organisers would like to collect all the school's filled boxes at the end of the week commencing 6 November - immediately after half-term. It would be great to be able to send many boxes from school and half-term would be a good time to buy those little extras to go in the boxes.

Nice cakes Class 10!

Many thanks to the parents and carers of children in Class 10 for providing the lovely cakes and goodies for this afternoon's FOBLES' Cake Sale.

All the money raised is used to support the fantastic work of the FOBLES as they provide so many valuable 'extras' for school.
