Some of you may not know that this is a very exciting year for Mr. Sharif and some secondary students because of a new class. Kurbon, Heloise, Samuel, and Zhang are the pioneers taking it. In this class, the students are studying two core subjects, Technology and Media/Publication, to compete a total of 14 units: four Technology units and ten Media and Publication units. These four students really deserve a round of applause for taking on many responsibilities such as morning announcements, the yearbook publication, editing the newsletter, and being journalists and photographers for the school. Next time you see one of them please cheer them up and tell them what good of the job they are doing.
Our pioneers are in the process of creating an Ethics Policy for the student publication at QSID. The students have learned new writing strategies like the inverted pyramid, how to write news leads and many others. In addition, working on a Technology Selective Unit - Desktop Publishing, students have mastered Adobe InDesign and are required to publish their sample writings. For that reason, we have created a “Writer’s Corner” in the QSID Newsletter. Please read an article written by Samuel Solson below!
The Secondary students from Russian Classes went to national restoration Toqi where they've seen how to make plov and how they serve. They ordered some food and had a conversation in Russian. It was an interesting field trip.
