Atlanta Greener Cleaning Workshop
Georgia Dome

April 13, 2016 - 9:00am-12:45pm

The Atlanta Greener Cleaning Workshop invites regional venue operators and partners to convene to learn, share and discuss how sports facilities can reduce the health and environmental threats associated with cleaning.

Clean air, sanitary playing surfaces and overall environmental exposures are important to maintain a healthy, high-performing sports venue. From elite professional sports venues, to university athletic venues and recreation centers, to K-12 school and community courts and fields, creating better places for all to play is a recipe for healthier athletes, fans and communities.

The Atlanta Greener Cleaning Workshop will explore better practices in:

  • Reducing the health and environmental impacts of cleaning processes, programs and policies

  • Saving resources with more efficient operations

  • Engaging and training all important stakeholders

  • Goal setting, measuring, reporting, and continually striving for improvement

Attendees will have the unique opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Georgia Dome and network with peers across the region.

About the Green Sports Alliance Greener Cleaning Workshop Tour

To assist sports facilities in creating healthier, safer environments for their fans, athletes and staff, the Green Sports Alliance released its Greener Cleaning Playbook in July 2015. The Playbook is designed to help sports facilities reduce the health and environmental threats associated with cleaning sports venues. The valuable resource provides cost-effective strategies for creating a successful greener cleaning program, and offers comprehensive guidance on how to select cleaning products and services that are environmentally safe.

To help spread the expertise and better practices in the Playbook, the Green Sports Alliance has launched the Greener Cleaning Regional Workshop Tour.

Partnering with members, ISSA, and the Healthy Schools Campaign, the Green Sports Alliance will host six regional workshops in 2016 across North America in locations including Atlanta, Los Angeles, St. Louis, and Chicago.
