Similar to the Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition, Visualise your Thesis is a research communication challenge designed for graduate students, with one point of difference: students must present their research in a 60-second, digital display. This is a great opportunity for HDR students to get creative and build their digital literacy skills. Dr Monica Kerr EventsThree Minute Thesis Information Session The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an annual skills development activity that challenges Higher Degree by Research students to explain their research project to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes using a single PowerPoint slide. Literature reviews and review papers: constructing compelling argumentsPlease bring a recent review paper from your own research field, plus the current draft of your own literature review. We will apply the analysis framework from Cargill & O’Connor’s Writing scientific research articles; Strategy and steps to analyse recent examples of review articles. The goal is to understand their construction and the language and organisational features that contribute to their arguments. We will then consider which of these features and structures can usefully be applied in thesis literature reviews. 14 June 2019, 1:10pm - 5pm, Charles Hawker Conference Centre, Waite Campus. Contact paws@clubs.auu.org.au to register. This activity counts for 4 credits in Domain D. NewsAdvance notice: Visualise your Thesis and you could win $1000!
