April is Autism Awareness Month

What does one in 88 mean to you?

It represents the prevalence of autism spectrum disorder and its related disorders according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  At this rate there are more than one million children directly affected by autism, making it more common than pediatric cancer, diabetes and AIDS combined. 

But, what is autism?

Department Highlights

Congratulations!

The Department of Pediatrics team has accomplished many great things in the past month.

The 31st Annual Pediatrics Science Day was a success on March 21. Plus, one of our own received UF's Lifetime Achievement Award, five department members received CATCH grants, a faculty member was awarded a UF Research Opportunity Seed Fund award and CTSI announced two pediatric ties to its Pilot Project Award and Academy of Research Excellence awards.
