UCF and the Great American Solar Eclipse Viewing Session Safely view the first partial solar eclipse easily visible from UCF in more than 12 years, and the deepest solar eclipse visible from UCF in more than 47 years. Barring rain or clouds, Orlando residents will be able to see the partial version of the total solar eclipse that is happening this day in other parts of the US. The UCF Planetary Sciences Group (https://planets.ucf.edu/) at the College of Sciences and the Astronomy Society are hosting the viewing session. Telescopes will be available to safely see the solar eclipse and UCF professors and students researching how the solar system formed will be on hand to explain what you are seeing. Special eclipse glasses, which must be worn for viewing, will also be available for this historic event. For more information about UCF's solar eclipse event, contact planets@planets.ucf.edu Mandatory Financial Aid Reporting Activity As we begin the Fall 2016 term, please remember the following: If you are the instructor of record for any student course in the fall term, including thesis and dissertation, research, or independent study hours, you must document student engagement in the course during the first week of classes to ensure that all eligible students receive their financial aid in a timely manner. The way to do this is by setting up a required academic activity for your students in Webcourses@UCF (Canvas.) In order to receive the earliest financial aid disbursement, students should complete this action during their first week of class. Later completions will be accepted but will result in later financial aid disbursements. This assignment should remain open for students who may join the class late. Do not delete the assignment, even if you believe all your students have completed it, as this will negatively impact financial aid disbursements. Please visit this website for details on how to set up your academic activity: People First Annual Address Verification - August 31 This is a reminder that the address verification process was activated in People First on August 1.
