New CEO Appointments

Some of South Bank's key stakeholder organisations have experienced major changes in management recently.

Last week, Deputy Premier Jackie Trad announced the appointment of South Bank Corporation's new Chief Executive Officer, Jemina Dunn, who will bring a wealth of industry and government experience to the role of overseeing one of Brisbane’s iconic destinations as it celebrates its 25th year.

Jemina will be commencing on Monday July 10, following the final day for Interim CEO David Lynch on Friday 7 July.

TAFE Queensland Brisbane welcomes Paul Wilson who will take up the role of General Manager, Brisbane on 1 July 2017.

Paul has over 20 years’ leadership experience in the vocational education and training sector, both in Australia and in New Zealand. 

Brisbane Marketing has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer, Brett Fraser. Brett has been Brisbane Marketing's Chief Operating Officer since January 2016. His appointment as CEO will be effective from Monday, 3 July 2017.

Emporium Hotels named Australia's Leading Boutique Hotel

MDA Luminous Lantern Parade 2017

This year, MDA is celebrating the 10 year anniversary of the LUMINOUS Lantern Parade, marking a decade of lighting the way for new Queenslanders!

Attended by over 15,000 people each year, LUMINOUS Lantern Parade is Queensland’s largest welcome event.

The parade features colourful lanterns of all sizes held by representatives from government, council, business and community groups and the broader Brisbane community celebrating our state’s great cultural diversity.

Held in the South Bank Parklands, the parade is followed by cultural performances and activities in the Cultural Forecourt with range of food and beverage stalls with delicacies from around the world.

What are your key skills and responsibilities?
Having spent the past 25 years in the printing industry I can identify the changing landscape and challenges that our clients experience and consequently have built an in-house manufacturing model that provides fast, reliable and economical communication solutions.

How many people work at your business?
Snap – South Brisbane have a full time creative department lead by Celia who has wide-ranging experience in creating brand identities including logo development, personalised artwork designs, email marketing and ePublilcations as well as custom website design. Our production team lead by Tony, have a production infrastructure that is cutting edge in speed and quality and can turn around stitched booklets, posters, flyers and business stationery in a matter of hours.

In addition, our wide format and in-house mailing capabilities allows us to offer signage and direct mail campaigns from our conveniently located location directly across the road from the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre.

What is your favourite place in the precinct? 
QPAC, Lyric Theatre, Bars and Restaurants.

What do you want BSB members to know about you or your business?
Snap – South Brisbane is not just a printer but provides sophisticated end-to-end supply chain management of communication campaigns that are tailored to meet specific client requirements.

What is something people wouldn’t know about your business?
We have been in operating in South Brisbane for more than 30 years.

What has recently happened at your organisation?
Our total production infrastructure was updated in May 2017 in partnership with Fuji Xerox – South Brisbane which included new printing presses, finishing capabilities and workflow software solutions making Snap – South Brisbane the most advanced production facility on the South side.

What have you learnt lately?
Today’s environment is constantly evolving and we as a business need to continue to expand our service offering and remain innovative to our SME client base.
