June and the launch of Cove Park's Supporters, Friends and Patrons ProgrammeDue to the current crisis Cove Park remains closed and like many other organisations we expect we will only be able to reopen gradually and in stages from the late summer this year. Despite this we are continuing to develop projects to support artists and share their work with audiences near and far. We have now released nine films as part of HOCP at Home - the most recent is featured below - sharing the work of visual artists, makers, writers and a traditional boat builder involved in our international
residency programme. We are also pleased to announce details of The Lighthouse & Cove Park Crafts Residency and the continuation of our European Residency Programme, the dates of which will be announced as soon as our reopening date is confirmed. If you would like to support Cove Park and take part, please join our new Supporters, Friends and Patrons programme. Your support in our 20th anniversary year will ensure we can continue to offer vital opportunities for national and international artists and, through our Hands-On creative learning programme, those within our local community. We
hope all of our artists, colleagues, friends and supporters are safe and well and we send our very best wishes to everyone. Image: Toby Paterson, Visual Arts Resident, 2015 (image, Helen Voce)
Become a Supporter, Friend or Patron of
Cove Park in our 20th Anniversary YearAs for all artists and charities working within the cultural sector as a whole, the current global crisis means 2020 is a critical moment for the future of Cove Park. Although our plans to celebrate our 20th anniversary this year are now on hold, our commitment to the artists and communities we serve continues. At a time of considerable uncertainty for everyone, providing opportunities for artists from all backgrounds and at every career stage to devise and produce new work is more important to our culture and society than it has ever been. Please join us by becoming a Supporter, Friend or Patron in 2020. We offer a number of ways individuals and groups can support our work, take part in our programme and spend time at one of
Scotland's most beautiful locations. To find our more and to join Cove Park please visit our Support Us page. As a registered charity Cove Park welcomes all donations, small or large. Gifts of any amount will make an enormous difference to our work. Please donate today if you can. Thank you. Image: Jasleen Kaur, Craft & Design Resident 2015 (image, Eoin

The Lighthouse & Cove Park Craft ResidencyFollowing the success of Camille Arnould Walachowski’s 2019 residency and exhibition, The Lighthouse, Scotland’s Centre for Design and Architecture, in partnership with Cove Park, will once again offer an opportunity for emerging crafts makers, designers and architects. This fully-funded residency aims to support research and the development of new work, leading to a six-week exhibition within
the Review Gallery at The Lighthouse. This year, The Lighthouse and Cove Park have awarded this opportunity to letterpress printer Ruth Kirkby. Ruth is a letterpress printer living and working in Glasgow using traditional methods of printing with metal and wood type, but also experimenting with new techniques within the process. You can read more about her work here. Image: Reading Fixations, Ruth Kirkby, November 2017.
European Residency Programme 2020/21We are pleased to share some good news. Cove Park's bid to continue its European Residency Programme was successful and we are one of 15 Scottish organisations being supported to deliver cultural projects between Scottish and European partners. We are grateful to British Council Scotland and Creative Scotland for this award and look forward to creating new opportunities for artists and audiences based in France, Germany, Ireland, Italy and Scotland as soon as possible. These projects are in development and will, in relation to the current crisis, respond to the specific needs and concerns of those
artists, organisations and audiences we plan to work with. Our partners and the participating artists will be announced in future editions of this Newsletter. Hands-On Cove Park - HOCP at HomeHands-On Cove Park is our creative learning programme of public workshops and events devised and led by our alumni. Although Cove Park's regular series of Saturdays Studios and other events are on hold, HOCP at Home introduces the practices of the participating artists and gives ideas for projects you can make at home. All of the films are available on our website and we are pleased to share here the latest edition featuring visual artist
Lauren Gault. This beautiful short film relates directly to the Lauren's 2014 Visual Arts Residency and is a wonderful introduction to the artist's work. We would like to thank Duncan Marquiss for editing these films and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Young Start Community Fund for their ongoing support of this programme.
