Spotted: CeltixConnect Landfall

Gail Johnson, a local photographer, caught some great snaps of the cable coming into Wales. The photos highlight the delicate process of a cable landfall: the cable is kept afloat by buoys whilst on the water and then placed on rollers along the beach to prevent friction. This ensures no strain on the cable during the final hours of the lay. Check out the rest of the photos in our gallery or on our Facebook page.

The CeltixConnect Launch Video

The Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, Mr. Pat Rabbitte launched CeltixConnect in December 2011 onboard the Cable Innovator.
