Opportunity... No images? Click here Your Opportunity to Bloom...#39 Meee Moments (September 2022) A very Happy September lovely people! We hope you had a wonderful August and enjoyed the wonderful sunshine, rain and amazing sporting events. We're dedicating September to the wonderful world of Opportunity and all it brings us. So without further ado here's our wonderments to Opportunity... The above image is a bunch of flowers my lovelies (Freddie, Beatrice and Florence picked for me). They brought me such joy that a month later they are still in the jug, but sadly withered. I don't want to throw them away as they remind me of how simple and beautiful life can be...
MeeeHQ is now on TikTok - Tales from the jetteee!Over the last few weeks we've watched many students open various results (Degree, GCSE, HND, BTEC etc.) live on TV. This annual parade of academic achievement is wonderful, but it does get us thinking about those that didn't get the results they wanted. And what happens to them? Whilst academic achievement is great, it is never the full story. So for all of you who did get the results you wanted, and for those that didn't...Congratulations to you all on making and taking that opportunity. Watch Sid as he takes a splash into the world of TikTok.
Ben Giles - He doesn’t cut corners, he cleans them...Ben is an inspiration to us all. Everything he does is driven by his faith, his fearless approach to life and his love of helping others. From cleaning crime scenes to keeping bees to being a canny businessman Ben is wonderfully unique. This Just Meee Ben Giles podcast is a great top up for anyone doubting their own unique qualities and abilities. It’s a real ‘GO LIVE’ booster. Thank you Ben for sharing your magic with us.
Look up...Can you remember what you were doing this time last year, last month, or even last week? As we get older, time seems to go by quicker and quicker and sometimes we wonder where the time went. We very rarely take the time to stop, to look up, and to reflect on our lives. In Chapter 44 of 'Meee In A Minute', Sid wrote about Neuroscientist David Eagleman who calls himself a 'possibillion' - someone who embraces a scientific toolbox while exploring new, unconsidered uncertainties about the world around us. Take a moment now and again to 'look up' and explore the world of opportunity around you. To help you with this why not read our article 'Where to Find Inspiration'.
A sporting wonderland...What a wonderful summer of sports we have just had. From the amazing win the England women's football team had in the European championship, to the Commonwealth and European Games, it's been an absolute joy to be a part of. What we've loved is the stories of all the winners and participants and the amazing journeys they have been on. Many of them said what a hard year they had had and the struggles they were having with their mental health. But, by digging deep, sticking to their training and seeing the wonderful opportunities sport brings them they dug deep and carried on. Whatever challenges you face, dig deep and think about the great opportunity it will present when you get through it. Thank you to all the women and men who train so hard to bring us those amazing moments of sporting joy.
Tikkun Olam...what a wonderful sayingI've been studying the great Wim Hof and his amazing method of breathing and looking after yourself. It's a real game changer for me and has helped thousands of people around the world. In his book 'The Wim Hof Method' he mentions a Jewish saying he practices 'Tikkun olam'. It means to take action to repair and improve the world. What a wonderful saying and one we love. We all have the opportunity in everything we do to repair and improve the world. So let's get busy doing so. And who knows what changes it will bring.
The power lies in one word...Sid and Paula have been working together for one year on 01 September. Happy Anniversary to us! During that time there have been many wonderful opportunities that have arisen from one magical and powerful word, conversation. It's about taking the time to say yes and meet people. Listening, engaging and building relationships, working out how you can help each other. You won't ever know where this can lead but that is where is the most joy. How can you create more of those moments to meet with new people? How can you build your relationships with your current connections? Say yes and see where it leads...
We all need connection...The International Day of Sign Languages is celebrated annually across the world on 23 September every year. Human beings are social creatures and need connection to thrive. If you experience barriers to communication then connection can be difficult to obtain. Last month we met a couple of young people in London. They were signing with each other, excited about their trip to the Warner Bros Studio Tour. This wonderful meeting rekindled Paula's joy of signing. In October's Meee Moments, we will share a clip of Paula signing a short message. Whilst we can't learn all languages, let us make more of an effort to be sensitive and inclusive to the needs of everyone around us. |
