Through the darkest of tunnels and around the clearest of dams, this 8km guided hike along the Railway Reserves Heritage Trail in John Forrest National Park is sure to impress. Enjoy magnificent views over the city, the rush of water on one of the multiple waterfalls during winter, and the secret history of the tunnel. 9am-12pm. Exploring traditions connected to sheep and wool production in Australia, Sheep Show, celebrates, abstracts, and unpacks this significant industry via its material and cultural expressions.
Gallery 2 - Grounding
Grounding brings together three works form the Shire of Mundaring Art Collection which represent ‘productive’ landscapes. This perspective is of particular relevance in the Perth Hills.

Exhibition opens Saturday 8 August
At last! The Mundaring District Museum reopens with a new exhibition ‘Head for the Hills’, a collaboration between Mundaring & Hills Historical Society, Friends of the Chidlow WW2 Camps and Heritage Detection Australia. Using artefacts recently retrieved from Chidlow’s former WW2 Army Camps, the exhibition highlights their role in defending Australia following Japan’s entry into WW2 in December 1941. With c. 50 000 troops passing through the Camps from March 1942 until June 1944, the significance of these camps in understanding the military heritage of WA is clear.

South Darlington and Helena River
This walk covers a distance of 7.2km, conducted on a variety of wide and narrow trails, some flat, some very steep and rocky sections. Entirely in bushlands, with wildflowers starting to display. Celebrate Mundaring’s agricultural landscape in this acrylic painting workshop with Alastair Taylor. Bring along your own reference image of an animal of your choice and Alastair will show you how to capture the scene in acrylic paint. This workshop will cover colour mixing, composition, brushwork and Alastair's wet palette method with acrylics.

Join this free online event to celebrate the launch of KSP's anthology 'Beneath' by Wild Weeds Press, featuring all the winning and shortlisted entries from the KSP 2020 Spooky Story Competition sponsored by Tabetha Beggs of Little Black Dress Productions.
