The Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD) has released a Position Statement on frailty and its association with diabetes. The document, ‘Managing frailty and associated comorbidities in older adults with diabetes: Position Statement on behalf of the Association of British Clinical Diabetologists (ABCD‘, was drafted by Professor Alan Sinclair from the Foundation for Diabetes Research in Older People, Diabetes Frail, and Dr Alison Gallagher of the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Evidence‐based guidelines on the prevention and management of diabetic foot disease have been published. The International Working Group on the Diabetic Foot (IWGDF) has been producing evidence-based guidelines on the prevention and management of diabetic foot disease since 1999. The Joint British Diabetes Societies for Inpatient Care (JBDS-IP) is looking to introduce a “broader approach” to updating existing guidelines. The organisation, which aims to improve inpatient diabetes care across the UK through the development and use of high-quality, evidence-based guidelines and inpatient care pathways, is calling on participation from members of the Association of British Diabetologists (ABCD), the UK DISN group, Diabetes UK and others who use the guidelines.
