Snohomish County recently held its annual Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony. This year's class included MMA/UFC fighter, Randy Couture (LHS '81) and the 1981 Meadowdale High Girls Soccer State Championship Team. Mikayla Pivec (LHS ’16) was also honored at the event in recognition of her Herald Girls High School Athlete of the Year award (see below). On October 20, Edmonds-Woodway High School inducted the second class into its Athletic Hall of Fame. Inductees included:

1979 Woodway High Baseball State Championship team

1981-83 Edmonds High Boys Cross Country State Championship teams

1983-85 Edmonds High Girls Cross Country State Championship teams

Athletes: Anya Aardahl (WHS ’82), Frank Bly (EHS ’51), John Casebeer (EHS ’63), Bill Demeroutis (EHS ’68), John Garner (EHS ’49), Erika Klein (EHS ’89), Warren Lashua (EHS ’55), Robert Shannon (WHS ’83), Tony Volpentest (EWHS ’91)

Mikayla Pivec (LHS '16), current Oregon State University Basketball player and multi-sport LHS standout, received multiple sports honors during 2016 including the prestigious Max Preps Athlete of the Year  and the Herald Girls High School Athlete of the Year.

This past spring the Edmonds School District's Carpentry Program completed construction on its 39th home through its partnership with the Rotary Club of Lynnwood. (Lynnwood Today)
