Our thanks to Hasmet and the team at Celik Engineering for the chance to work in the woods with them. New Orleans VA Medical Center Campus - Pan Am Building
New Orleans, LA
General Contractor: CLARK McCARTHY HEALTHCARE PARTNERS JOINT VENTURE
Supply Patriot SDVOSB Involvement: ROOFING MATERIALS

Originally, the Pan American Life Insurance Company Building, this New Orleans landmark is listed individually on the National Register for Historic Places and is a significant representation of post-World War II International style architecture.

The Pan Am building will be the first building to come on line as part of the new VA Medical Center, housing education, training, recruitment and administrative services. “This marks the first of many steps to come as we work towards our goal of creating a 21st century state-of-the-art health care system for our Veterans,” said Julie Catellier, Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System director. “Veterans have waited patiently for the return of a Veteran’s hospital since the floodwaters of Katrina forced the closure of the VA Medical Center on Perdido Street. It is an honor to serve our Veterans and continue our mission of providing health care to America’s heroes."

Supply Patriot has enjoyed being part of this restoration project  and looks forward to additional participation on future phases of this new VA campus project.

Care "Tubs" for Our Troops Overseas
Anytime we have an event or party, we like to incorporate some activity that allows us to "pay it forward." With two kids, James (6) and Emerson (4), we recently hosted two birthday parties where we took about 15 minutes before cake time to decorate and pack care "tubs" for the Kandak Advisor Team 1-4/215 of Marines currently deployed overseas to advise the Afghanistan National Army on infantry tactics.

Each tub contained items from the team's "wish list" posted by Sgt. Limberg on behalf of the team on the site AnyMarine.com. Some of the "basics" from their list included chapstick, wipes, razors and gum.

All of the kids did an amazing job helping us support our active duty troops!

Camp Pendleton Toy Drive
The wonderful and tireless team at the Camp Pendleton Armed Services YMCA is seeking donations for their Holiday Toy Drive - "Santa's Workshop." This toy drive supports the families of young marines and sailors on Camp Pendleton. These soilders have difficulty providing presents for their families during the holiday season due to financial burdens. Let's support these troops who are willing to lay down their lives for our freedom.

We would also like to recognize Suzanne Tabrum and her team at the Armed Services YMCA for their dedication to our troops and their families. Year-round they organize and raise funds to provide a variety of programs and services, from their Mommy & Me Preschool Program, to after school tutoring, School of Infantry "Concrete Beach" events, and their Thanksgiving Adopt a Marine for the Day program which are just a few of their amazing initiatives.

For more information on donating to Santa's Workshop this holiday season, please see the flyer below.
