Start your career in Film & TV

Certificate IV in Screen & Media Studies is an accredited and industry respected program with a hands-on experience focused on practical industry skills. 80% of graduates walk into work after the graduation screening with a show reel and a network of contacts. Only 15 students are selected twice a year for each group. Interviews are being conducted this month for the second Group running 30 Jul – 12 Dec this year. This course is for people who are ready to start working in the film, television and online media industries. With industry internships as part of your study, practical experience can lead to jobs at production companies working on TV shows like Masterchef.

Directing Actors Masterclass 7 - 8 July
This two day intensive workshop explores the process of working with actors from casting to shoot. Throughout the workshop, you will look at the Director’s role and responsibility to actors and learn hints and tips on how to work with actors to tease out their best performance. Facilitated by Dean Francis, director of the upcoming feature film, Drown.

Film and theatre director, Jonathan Wald, will illustrate how camera angles, aspect ratio, shot sequence and staging all effect the power of a story. The course covers the analysis of a wide range of scripts and films to discover how best to use the language of film to tell a powerful story.

CONGRATULATIONS

THIS DOG'S LIFE
This Dog's Life screened at Dungog Film Festival. The film was also selected to screen at the National Film and Sound Archive's travelling festival, Big Screen, in May at Nanango and Kingaroy, Queensland where actor and star of the film Martin Sacks introduced the film. 

THE GRAND DESIGN
Metro Screen First Break 2011 film The Grand Design has made Official Selection at Rhode Island Flicker Fest which is an Oscar Nominated festival. The film was Written and Directed by Samuel Bartlett. 

KISS 
Director, Alex Murawski and Metro Screen Alumni and Certificate IV in Screen and Media graduate, producer, Annmaree J Bell’s ‘KISS’ has been selected as one of the 50 semi-finalists in the inaugural Your Film Festival.
