Parent lunch schedule for 2014-2015

Moving into next year, the number of days required to serve as a parent lunch volunteer will be six. The fee to opt out will be $84.

These increases were necessary to provide adequate coverage in the cafeteria and at recess. Right now, we are spread thin with scheduling, especially in April and May.

Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. Remember to turn in your parent lunch form for next year by May 22.

Scrip orders restart May 1

Scrip ordering resumes May 1. All orders submitted on or after that date will earn credit towards your 2014-15 Family Assessment.

Thursday will continue to be the order turn-in and pick-up day.

Tuition late fees

Because of difficulties we have had collecting tuition from families who chose to pay their tuition in either one or two installments, beginning with the 2014-2015 academic year, we will begin to charge a $50 late fee if a tuition payment is not made by the due date. This late fee is comparable to the one that SMART tuition assesses.

The payment schedule will not change. The first payment will be due on July 15, 2014. If you choose to make two payments, the second payment is due on January 15, 2015. Reminders will not be sent.

Any family that is experiencing difficulties is encouraged to contact Father Grecco at 412-661-0187.

Register now for summer camp

Third grade honors grandparents May 9

On Friday, May 9, the third grade will spend the afternoon with some very special people, their grandparents.  We will begin the day with a prayer service at Sacred Heart Church and then proceed to the auditorium for lunch. The afternoon will be filled with conversation, fun, and lots of great memories.

7th and 8th grade Sports Banquet is May 8

Just a reminder that our annual 7th and 8th grade sports banquet will be 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 8 in the auditorium.  Invitations have gone out and RSVPs were due April 29.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. A buffet dinner will be served followed by an award presentation.

Each team awards a trophy for most valuable player and most improved player. Sr. Lynn announces the female outstanding student athlete and the male outstanding student athlete. These athletes are nominated by their coaches for exhibiting not only skill in their sport, but leadership, sportsmanship and team work. The names are presented to the 7th and 8th grade teachers and Sr. Lynn, who then select the recipients.

No jeans, sweats, or shorts permitted.

Safety note for morning drop-off

FYI: Emerson St. is one way from 7 until 9 a.m. in the morning.

Traffic should flow down Emerson Street from Walnut Street to Alder Street. No turns are permitted up Emerson from Alder during those hours.

We have been told that motorcycle police will be monitoring that corner from time to time. Please be a part of a safer, less congested arrival and dismissal for all of our children.

May food: Rice

In conjunction with Sacred Heart Parish, the school will collect rice to be contributed to the food bank run by the East End Cooperative Ministry.

Each month, the Student Council members encourage all of us to contribute a different featured food to share with our neighbors in need. Thank you for your support.
