Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF)

The introduction of SSVF from 1 July 2016 makes universities more accountable for the visa outcomes and visa compliance of students we recruit. As a result, we have introduced some minor changes to the process of applying to study at UTAS which will streamline the application process and help ensure that students who accept a UTAS offer are successful in securing a visa to study in Australia.

$300 million transformation proposal to guide more students into higher education and create new campuses

The Australian government announced last week it would commit to the Education-Driven Revitalisation of Northern Tasmania. The plan - already supported with $150 million from the University, State Government and local governments - will deliver better educational attainment outcomes, social impact and economic renewal.
