The 10th Anniversary Sir James Plimsoll Lecture Australia and the European Union have embarked on free trade negotiations as both seek to understand the impact of Brexit. These outcomes will have significant ramifications for Tasmania, from
agriculture and aquaculture to climate change settings.

The 2019 Richard Selby Smith Oration Toby Walsh is Scientific Professor of Artificial Intelligence at the University of New South Wales and the CSIRO's Data61 and has been described as a "rock star" of Australia's digital revolution. Professor Walsh is a strong advocate for limits to ensure AI is used to improve our lives. He has authored two books on AI, the most recent entitled 2062: The World that AI Made, and recently worked with the NSW Department of Education on their project, Education for a Changing World.
