Thinking like a Computer - The Fundamentals of Programming The human brain and computers approach and solve problems in fundamentally different ways. Understanding this fact is key to being able to write instructions for computers in a way that takes advantage of their strengths, and overcomes their drawbacks. Online Training Endnote Essentials As your research becomes more complex, the number of resources you need to manage and track increases. EndNote Essentials is an online course to help you learn the skills you need to get up and running with EndNote. Research Data Management Preparing, organising, analysing, storing and sharing research data are the key steps to effective data management. The Library offers a self-paced MyUni course on everything you need to know to get started with Managing Your Research Data. New machine learning courses from Intersect Intersect is piloting new courses for machine learning: Introduction to Machine Learning using Python: Introduction & Linear Regression on 25 November, 10am – 3pm, Introduction to Machine Learning using Python: Classification on November 27, 10am - 3pm, and Introduction to Machine Learning using Python: SVM & Unsupervised Learning on December 3, 10am – 3pm. NewsHugh Martin Weir Prize The University Library is inviting applications for the 2021 Hugh Martin Weir Prize. The maximum value of the prize will be $2,000. Industry Opportunities The Industry Engaged PhD (IEP) Program and Scholarship IEP scholarships are now available to support eligible domestic and international students who undertake an industry placement as part of their PhD. The University of Adelaide’s Industry Engaged PhD (IEP) program involves participation in an industry placement of 1-3 months (FTE) in duration, together with the completion of a number of Career and Research Skills Training (CaRST) and other professional development activities. Completion of the IEP, including the CaRST credit courses, will be reflected as a statement on the academic transcript.
