Twin Cities Home Builders Slightly More Optimistic Than Six Months Ago |
Our second Twin Cities Home Builders Survey, conducted by by the University of St. Thomas Shenehon Center for Real Estate in June, produced a slightly more optimistic composite index of 46, compared to last December's composite index of 45. The participants were strongly optimistic in their expectation of increasing sale prices per square foot and the number of single family housing starts, and they were moderately optimistic about an increase in availability of finished lots in the coming year. However, the expectation of increasing land prices and higher costs for building materials over the next year was a cause for concern, and tempered the composite index. |
Minnesota's buffer law establishes new perennial vegetation buffers of up to 50 feet along rivers, streams and ditches. The DNR released a new tool this month to help guide the implementation of Minnesota's buffer law. The Buffer Protection Map helps landowners determine where buffers or alternative water quality practices are required and what buffer widths are necessary.
