Overnight at the Museum

It was a night for the history books. The Galloway Station Museum's first ever ACTUAL night at the museum was enjoyed by everyone in attendance. Who could resist the novelty of being at the museum after hours, playing games, watching a movie and having a chance to win the privilege of sleeping in the trapper's cabin?

Our young guests were bright-eyed and bushy tailed in the morning when their parents came to pick them up after breakfast and a basement tour.

Museum HANDS ON Adventure!

Join us on Sunday, February 15th from 2 to 5 pm for our newest family adventure!  Food, crafts, games and more! Admission is $5 per family.

Featured Artist: Jenna Crawford

With such a thriving pottery club in Edson we always have a full stock of items in the Galloway Station Gift Shop. This month it is our pleasure to introduce one of the younger members of the club, Jenna Crawford. Recently Jenna could be seen as Rapunzel in Pine Grove’s production of Into the Woods, but where you are most likely to find her is in the potters studio at the Library.

For the past 3 years Jenna has been working on her craft after being encouraged and inspired by her grandmother, potter Shirley Lueck, to try her hand at this complex art form. At 13 years old, Jenna’s pieces are of top-notch quality and design, incorporating slab work, hand building and wheel throwing techniques in her final products.

Jenna’s advice to others thinking of getting their hands dirty at the potters’ wheel is to “be yourself, take your time, be patient and do not have long nails.”
