Major Door-to-Door HIV Assessment Launches in Zimbabwe

On September 18th in Harare, the Government of Zimbabwe and over 500 delegates from the National AIDS Council, the United States Government, and representatives of PEPFAR, CDC, ICAP at Columbia University, and other project partners formally launched the Zimbabwe Population-based HIV Impact Assessment (ZIMPHIA).

As part of this major initiative, survey teams will visit approximately 15,000 randomly selected households in order to estimate national HIV incidence, prevalence, and viral load suppression among adults and children in Zimbabwe.

ICAP Receives Funding to Strenghten Pediatric HIV Services in Kenya and Tanzania

ICAP has been awarded funding from PEPFAR and the Children's Investment Fund Foundation to strengthen pediatric HIV services in Kenya and Tanzania through the Accelerating Children's HIV/AIDS Treatment initiative.

"Reaching the UNAIDS 90-90-90 goal requires a concerted and sustained effort to address the health care needs of infants and children," said Dr. Elaine Abrams, senior director of research at ICAP and principal investigator of the project.

ICAP Awarded Funding for New Global Quality Improvement Project

ICAP has received funding from PEPFAR through HRSA for a five-year Quality Improvement Capacity and Impact Project to improve the effectiveness, safety, accessibility, and equity of HIV services in low and middle income countries.

"We look forward to partnering with ministries of health to enhance the performance of HIV programs, and to improve the quality of care for patients, families, and communities around the world,” said Dr. Miriam Rabkin, director of health system strategies at ICAP and principal investigator of the project.
