Are you struggling at the moment? Sending Hope Issue #10 The internet has saved 2020 Hi , Wow, what a fortnight it has been since our last issue. Before we get into issue 10 of Sending Hope, we want to let you know that there is some new information regarding COVID-19 and eating disorders since we were last in touch: - We highly recommend you read this page on our website to bring you up to speed. Everyone should be following physical distancing measures at this point, but it’s even more crucial if you are in recovery. - The federal government has announced that all Australians on a Mental Health Care Plan or an Eating Disorder Plan can now see their therapists and clinicians through telehealth (video conferencing or via phone). These sessions will also now be bulk billed, which means you will not be out of pocket. For more information regarding this, please contact your treatment team. OK! Now that the updates are out of the way, we want to share with you some positive things. That’s not to say we are diminishing the grief, stress and overall uncertainty of this whole situation. This is an immensely challenging time, even more so if you are trying to recover from the grips of an eating disorder. However, we’re all about acceptance here at EDV (it’s one of our core values), and with acceptance comes the ability to hope for a better tomorrow. So how do we find hope in the current climate? We turn to the internet of course!
