Kids Conference to be Held with Alabama Families of Prisoners Conference

A special Kids Conference will take place during the fourth annual Alabama Families of Prisoners Conference, hosted by Healthy You, Inc.,  on August 22 at the Dumas Wesley Community Center in Mobile. Ages 6-15 will have a chance to learn about the feelings they may be experiencing due to having an incarcerated family member.

When a family member is incarcerated, those who are left behind often pick up the pieces with little support. Kids often deeply feel the stigma, anger and hurt associated with incarceration.Using the Extended Family for Kids curriculum, children will learn self esteem, ease feelings of shame and isolation, decrease stress and address anger issues. Art, music, dance, games and storytelling will drive this message home. To regsiter, visit www.alabamafpc.org
