Movie in the Park: With a Castle

September 2nd is the night for movie fun in the park as the Town of Edson shows The Princess Bride on an inflatable movie screen in Centennial Park. Determined to be part of the fun, museum staff will be setting up a cardboard castle for all to enjoy. Don't miss it.

Featured Artist: Susan Longmore

As an aspiring author of romance novels and childrens' stories, Susan Longmore is a dedicated local writer. From a very young age Susan dreamed of writing but it wasn't until she won a short composition contest hosted by Daniel Goddard - Cane on Young and the Restless - that she tried her hand at writing her first romance novel, 'Bring Me Home’ in 2011.

Susan finds inspiration in real life conversations or ideas of things she wants say. A romantic at heart, Susan believes romance stories are good for your soul and children’s stories should contain fun and meaningful lessons.

Her childrens' book 'Rhys and the Stallion Called Bella' is available for purchase from the gift shop at the Galloway Station Museum.

Susan's advice to new writers: "If you have a dream and wish to write, don’t give up. Write and write some more."

'Chair-ity' Event

Raffle tickets to win one of three custom painted adirondack chairs are still available to purchase at the Galloway Station Museum. These chairs were painted by local artists, Sonja Boyce, Tracy Templeton and Madison Sharman.

Tickets are $5 each and winners will be drawn at the Rotary Sundays in the Park Culture Days and Wrap Up on September 27, 2015.

Proceeds go toward the Edson and District Historical Society.

Edson Custom Cruisers Show and Shine

It was a cloudy day but the rain held off and almost 100 cars filled Centennial Park on the afternoon of August 15th. Museum staff and volunteers manned the hotdog and popcorn stand and were happy to welcome several festival goers into the museum.
