As the term continues students and staff are working cooperatively to follow the recommendations from the DoE and Public Health Orders (PHOs). I would like to thank and commend everyone for their collaboration and patience in our present situation. Advice around permitted activities and restrictions are revised daily and staff, students and parents are being very understanding and helpful in supporting the school, so thank you all. Non-essential visitors are not permitted on school sites; however our Transition Program with our Primary Feeder schools continues with some minor restrictions. All staff and essential personnel who come onsite are required to register with a QR code each day.

The CHHS Uniform Shop will be operating on restricted hours from next week due to the current COVID-19 situation.
From Tuesday 3 August the Uniform Shop will only open each Tuesday between 8.30am and 11.30am until further notice.

NAPLAN Online-School Readiness test (SRT)
In preparation for transition to NAPLAN Online in 2022, our students in Years 7 and 9 will be participating in the school readiness test (SRT) between 30 August and 3 September 2021.

As part of the CHALC course work (Certificate II in Skills for Work and Vocational Pathways), the students have been organising lunchtime markets of second-hand items in their classroom to help raise money for charity. So far, they have raised $500 for Rape and Domestic Violence, $126 for Lifeline and this week's market raised $200 for Orange Sky - a free mobile laundry and shower for people experiencing homelessness. The markets will be continuing throughout the year.

Camden Haven High School has hired an exhibition space at Taree Art Gallery for the first week of September. Students are invited to send in a piece of art to be on display in the exhibition, entitled Alone Together to represent enduring connections even through times of physical isolation.
Collaborative art activities will be happening at some learning hubs, or individual pieces may be submitted by students. All entries are due to Camden Haven High School by the end of Week 6 and exhibition space is limited. If you are interested in participating, see your Learning Hub teacher or DE Co-ordinator as soon as possible.

In Term 2, 61 students earned at least one Step Up card for doing their best in distance education and we want to celebrate their success. Below are the highest point scorers for each grade, each of whom will receive a $25 Wish Gift Card as a reward for their efforts:

The North Coast Secondary Athletics Championships will now occur on FRIDAY 20 AUGUST 2021 at Walter Peate Oval, Kingscliff. Previously nominated students will need to collect an updated permission note from Mr Harris after the Tuesday assembly, or report to the PDHPE staffroom.
The carnival will be conducted in a COVID safe manner. Parents will be permitted to attend and must adhere to all COVID safe regulations. Notification will be given if further restrictions are necessary. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Ms Morley
