Events Planning Committee meeting

The Events planning team is converging for a meeting of the minds on October 19 at 6:30pm  to tackle the task of preparing a calendar of One Place gatherings for the upcoming year. This is an open invitation for anyone who has an opinion of how to create a greater community experience inside and out of Newbold Auditorium.

Last week's offering totaled $338. Thank you all for your generous giving.

Offering baskets are always available on tables at each of the lower entrances as well as one table upstairs between the upper entrances. Drop in loose donations or you may place it in a provided envelope and mark it for One Place.

Adult Sabbath School

Description: A community of individuals seeking to read, understand, and discuss scripture; aiming to make God’s Word more tangible to everyday life.
Topics Discussed: One Place weekly Scripture passages
Audience: Ages 18+
Time: 10 AM – 11 AM

SPA (Study, Pray, Apply)
Description: A prayerful and personable group of people seeking to study principles pertinent to Christian growth; open to people of all ages and from all walks of life.
Topics Discussed: The application of principles within devotional books; Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing, Steps to Christ, Christ Object Lessons
Audience: All ages
Time: 10:15 AM – 11:15 AM

Teen Sabbath School

A brand new Sabbath school is now being offered for 6th-8th grades. The group meets in BUL 149 at 10:00am.

Costume Contest Extravaganza!

One Place will be hosting a Costume Contest Extravaganza on Saturday at 8:00pm at the Howard Performing Arts Center. There will be a $1 entry fee. All costumes are encouraged as long as they are not scary, satanic, or skimpy!

Keep it creative. Keep it classy.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the best three costumes of the night. We hope to see you there!

The One Place Artist's Guild will be holding a planning session meeting on Sunday from 6:00-7:30pm in the AU Campus Ministries office to help shape this ministry and develop the coming year's arts activities and events.

Exploring Baptism

Beginning this week, One Place will be offering baptismal preparation sessions for those interested in furthering their understanding of the Word of God, or have lingering questions about their faith, or are finally ready to take that next step in in their walk with Christ. 

The sessions will be held from 8:30-9:30a on Sabbath mornings each week. The Adult session (age 15 & up) will meet in BUL 251.The Junior session (ages 11-14) will start a week later October 20 and meet in BUL250.

AU Student Missionary Spotlight

Kristin Chung is serving as a hospital assistant at the Bere Adventist Hospital in Chad and has been there for a little over a month now.

While she is still away, please send your warm words of encouragement her way via e-mail to let her know that she is in our prayers as she assists the people of Chad in a special way.

AU Student Missionary Spotlight

Stephen DeWitt has been working as the 3rd & 4th Grade Teacher at the Chuuk SDA School in Micronesia since July.

When you find a free opportunity, send Stephen an email letting him know he is being prayed for and that we are proud of his work in Micronesia at One Place.
