Showcase 2014

NBCS Showcase 2014 was a dynamic interactive event, with parents, students, staff and visitors from across our community enjoying a wide variety of performances, displays and activities.

We would like to offer particular thanks to NBCS staff, who went above and beyond to prepare for the event, and weave together such a rich and diverse program.

Summer/Winter uniform change-over

From today (1 September), either the Summer or Winter uniform may be worn on any day, according to whichever is comfortable and appropriate to the weather. The Summer and Winter uniform cannot be combined, it must be either one or the other in its entirety.

The compulsory wearing of Winter uniform is tied to the 3 winter months only. Beyond that, parents have discretion as to whether a child wears winter or summer uniform.

Our uniform reflects our school and wearing the NBCS uniform with pride is important both within the school context and in the wider community, including to and from school. All aspects of the uniform are significant, including correct skirt length, appropriate hair grooming, clean shoes and not adding casual items of clothing to the uniform.

Further information about specific Winter and Summer uniform can be found in the 2014 Parent Handbook.

Casual positions available at BlueSky Canteen

BlueSky is looking to expand its team. Offering cafe and canteen services to all NBCS students and faculty, BlueSky is a fun, fast paced environment that prides itself on quality food and good service.

If you have a background in food preparation or school canteen work, or if you are able to multi-task, have a friendly manner with children, and can work well in a team environment, this may be an opportunity for you.

We have positions available for 1, 2 or 5 days per week, either between school hours or early starts if preferred.

The cafe is not open during the school holidays, so this role is perfect for parents looking to work school hours.

Empowering Parents

This week’s Parenting Ideas information sheet:

In association with our Empowering Parent Seminars, we have been providing additional weekly parent information sheets to support NBCS parents. Some information will be more relevant to Primary than Secondary and vice versa. This is to support families within our school community covering all age groups.

If you would like an information sheet on a specific topic sent via Wavelength, please contact Mrs Anne Jobson via the School Office (9450 1311).
