The National Survey has been Extended!

The survey will close on 30th June 23:59

This survey is directed towards UK based artists and artist researchers to help us identify themes and questions that resonate within the sectors, and identify potentially important topics for discussion and further investigation.

With a commitment to ethical and responsible research that supports both higher education and the dance, theatre and arts sector, this project investigates the challenges the sector faces and discovers the needs that lie ahead for the art forms in carrying out ethical research. The focus will be on Performance Research (PR) in dance and theatre. PR is an under researched, yet increasingly discussed topic that now demands an investigation of the moral and ethical implications of this research methodology within Higher Education.

Karen Wood and Rosa Cisneros are ethics representatives for C-DaRE. This project responds to experience gained from hosting ethics clinics at C-DaRE and emerges from existing conversations with dancers, academics, freelance artists, ethics representatives in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities and current Postraduate Researchers (PGRs). The goal of this project is to explore discourse around ethics and equity within the practice of making dance and theatre in Higher Education and the wider arts sector.
