This spring, it feels like it's been a season of awards and accolades, where we've seen many of our recent projects being recognised for their amazing achievements. In project world we are nearing completion of a number of projects and it's not long to wait until the big unveiling of the Silverstone Experience which opens to the public on 9th July. We’re also approaching the final delivery phases of two other visitor experience projects - in Qatar and Kuwait - which will launch to the public in Q3/Q4. Our Engineering and Service teams are also extremely busy, with a number of design projects well underway, supporting prestigious partners including RAA, Haley Sharpe and Event Communications on international projects, and new service clients being onboarded regularly. We are also delighted to announce our involvement in the Sutton Hoo visitor experience project in Suffolk, working closely with The Hub, which will open to the public in summer this year. The other hot topic at the moment is the 2020 World Expo, as it becomes ever clearer how ambitious, creatively dynamic and cutting edge the pavilions are going to be. From the latest drone footage, you can already see that the Expo is going to deliver wow-factor in abundance! SYSCO AND THE WORLD EXPO 2020 IN DUBAI - WATCH THIS SPACE! The countdown to Expo 2020 is well and truly underway, and it's amazing to see more and more of the grand designs being revealed. Our team is already actively involved in a number of the pavilions and we're currently collaborating with experience designers to provide AV design consultancy and contractor management services. THE EXHILARATING SILVERSTONE EXPERIENCE OPENS 9 JULY The Silverstone Experience is a brand new technology driven and interactive attraction that will celebrate the exciting past, present and future of Silverstone and British motor sport. The visitor experience will deliver state of the art interactive displays, compelling stories, iconic cars and motorcycles. As part of the project team, we're working alongside alongside Mather & Co, Elmwood Projects and Ay-Pe and can't wait to help bring this story to life - it's going to be a showstopper! CELEBRATING ACHIEVEMENTS AND SUCCESSES AT THE 2019 RICS AWARDS The RICS Awards showcase the most inspirational initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure. They celebrate the achievements and successes of RICS professionals and their impact on local communities. We were thrilled to hear that the The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Galleries at Westminster Abbey won the London 'Project of the Year' award. Two other winning projects recognised under the RICS Awards, Scotland category was V&A Dundee which was honoured for the 'outstanding contribution to tourism and leisure facilities in the region' as well as Aberdeen's Music Hall, praised for the redevelopment that has acted 'as a springboard to encourage engagement through the arts'. Fantastic news all around! V&A DUNDEE SHORTLISTED FOR THE ART FUND MUSUEM OF THE YEAR 2019 It's yet another incredible achievement for the V&A Dundee, who have just been shortlisted alongside four other museums for this year’s Art Fund Museum of the Year Award, the world’s largest and most prestigious museum prize. It's a true testament to the success of this project, and we feel privileged to have supported the team throughout their journey - we're keeping our fingers crossed for the announcement at the award ceremony on 3 July! A TRIP TO THE MUSEUM + HERITAGE SHOW We had a great couple of days at the Museum + Heritage Show last week. It's our third year visiting and it's always lovely to touch base with the teams we've worked with at museums and galleries to find out how they're doing, as well as say hello to lots of partners exhibiting at the show itself.
A DRAMATIC NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM + HERITAGE AWARDS It was a dramatic night at the 17th annual Museums + Heritage Awards, which celebrated innovative and ground-breaking initiatives from museums, galleries and heritage visitor attractions across the UK and overseas. With 14 categories, these prestigious awards shine a spotlight on the diversity of this sector, of museums large and small – from the nationals to one-room volunteer-run museums, from iconic buildings and monuments to the great outdoors. Having worked on the AV design and integration for several of the shortlisted museums, we are exceptionally proud to have supported the finalists under the 'Permanent Exhibition of the Year' category. These included Portsmouth City Council's The D-Day Story, V&A Dundee's Scottish Design Galleries and also The National Maritime Museum's Endeavour Galleries which was 'Highly Commended' under this category. IMPRESSIVE SHOWCASE OF THE ENDEAVOUR GALLERIES Following our recent AV integration of the Endeavour Galleries at the National Maritime Museum, we are really pleased to see so many of the highlights feature in the current edition of MuseumiD magazine. Describing the 'intriguing juxtapositions of objects, audio-visual interventions and graphics' in relation to the visitor experience, its so rewarding to hear about the positive impact of the AV elements on the audience's engagement. This was a hugely successful project, and another successful collaboration with Casson Mann, Flemming Associates, Realm Projects, Clay Interactive and Squint / Opera.
