Click here ![]() Your gift to the youth in the Learn to Live School of SkillsWe designed the Learn to Live education programme specifically for vulnerable and at-risk children and youth. The School has been recognised as an independent school by the Western Cape Education Department. The programme provides basic education and skills training to youth at risk who, for a variety of socio-economic reasons, cannot cope in mainstream schooling. This is achieved through project-based learning and vocational skills training. You can now assist a young boy or girl to become an upright productive citizen by investing in their: Basic Education Providing 3 nutritious meals served during a normal school day Transport costs to and from school ![]() The Cape Town harbour is on our doorstep and so partnering with large sea fishing companies in the sector as well as various training providers in was an obvious solution, empowering some 200 young men and woman each year to find gainful employment at sea or on the docks. The following is required for each beneficiary participating in the Waves of Change Programme: 2 Weeks Life Skills training Medical Certificate Safety Familiarisation Course Fire Fighting Course Seaman's Record Book This all comes at a cost. To facilitate maritime training, you can now assist a young person to gain all the required training to become a seafarer and provide for him- or herself and their families. The Salesian Institute Youth Projects realised the need for youth with very low levels of education to be gainfully employed to contribute towards the financial needs of their families and communities ![]() Your gift to a young person who wants to become more employableThe NEETS Youth Employability Programme for youth aged 18 to 24, who are not in employment training, is a work readiness programme that will provide marginalised youth with skills that will endeavour to establish and maintain sustainable livelihoods for those young men and woman that do not have the means to do it themselves. The 1st cohort for the NEETS Employability Programme will be piloted in early 2021, as part of a new strategy to provide 21st-century training and education in a country where youth unemployment has reached critical levels.
