Merry Christmas and what a year it has been! We have moved from just a handful of clients and a tiny team to 17 Clients, a Client Services Coordinator, a Ministry Coordinator, a Career Coach, a Financial Literacy Coordinator, a Team of Mentors, and several more AMAZING volunteers! Their hard work, your support, and God's grace have allowed us to have an impact on the young mothers that have joined our program. THANK YOU for being a part of what we are doing in this city! As we look ahead, our hopes are high and we are excited about the relationships that we are cultivating and the opportunities to serve more young mothers on their journeys from poverty to self sufficiency. Here are some updates on just a few. Cassandra T.Jeanine H.Cassandra called us a couple of weeks ago. She heard about us from another program. She is a 29 year old mother with a 2 year old daughter. She aged out of the foster care system and has no family support. She has great communication skills, previous work history, and is motivated to change but doesn't know how to navigate through child care barriers, transportation barriers, and a lack of education. Please pray for her as she moves forward. Jeanine is one of our newest clients and is doing so well! She is an Ivy Tech student who is looking for stable employment. She has already met with Ann (our career coach) and is working on her resume. Please pray for her as she works through several family issues. Please also pray for her housing situation to remain stable. When there is instability at home, it creates a huge barrier to progress. Some words from her: "I've been looking for a program like yours and I'm so excited that I've found you. I feel like my future is looking good!" Katie H.
Last month we mentioned how Katie H. received a vocational scholarship from us to attend Property & Casualty Licensing School, studied hard, and passed her Indiana State Exam! Well, within just 2 weeks, she received a job at a local State Farm agency and started last week! God is so good and we are so proud of her and all that she has accomplished! Some words from her: "I absolutely love my new job and couldn't be happier! I feel like I have a career instead of just a job. Thank you to everyone involved!" Azaria J.
Remember Azaria J.? The young mother who had her son at age 14? What a transformation she, her son, and her new parents have undergone! What a difference a stable, loving environment makes! She is a senior this year and just made the honor roll for the 1st time in her life! Those who were once strangers, she now calls mom and dad. Thank you for your prayers! Because of you, she and her 3 year old son have successfully transitioned from an incredibly unstable environment to a beautiful new beginning. What's next? More Education? Financial Stability? January will be a month of planning, but we are greatly encouraged, because she now knows that God is real and that with Him, ALL things are possible! Please continue to pray for her as we make plans for the next step. We'll be sure to keep you posted! We have the opportunity to serve more impoverished single parents on their journey from poverty to professionalism and are excited to invite you to join our community of Change Makers who will be instrumental in greatly impacting their lives.Join now to make your year end giving, their beginning! |
