COVID-19 Update – Thursday, 16 April We can confirm that a student in our School of Computing and Information Technology has tested positive for COVID-19. He has received written confirmation from the Auckland Regional Public Health Service. The student received his positive test result on April 12, but had not been on campus for more than three weeks prior to that, well outside the notifiable 14-day incubation period. Public health authorities have not followed up with us to carry out any contact tracing and we understand that this is considered a low-risk situation to Unitec. Our Student Success team is in contact with the student and we wish him a speedy recovery. We continue to advise all staff and students who have been unwell with flu-like symptoms to contact your GP or the Healthline 0800 358 5453 and to follow all the other lockdown guidelines consistent with the current Level 4 Alert Level. Please continue to look after yourself and stay connected.
