A record-breaking crowd of over 5,300 attended the UK’s largest diabetes conference, which some have claimed was “the best one yet”. Diabetes Professional Care (DPC2019) is the UK’s leading conference for healthcare professionals working in diabetes and related conditions, providing free education to support the NHS to improve care. A call for just two diabetes nursing titles has been made after the results of the first-ever, England-wide Diabetes Specialist Nurse (DSN) Audit revealed there were 117 different job titles. The survey was launched by TREND-UK, an organisation that represents all diabetes nursing groups, because the overall number of diabetes specialist nurses (DSNs) was previously unknown. A senior executive from Roche Diabetes Care has firmly addressed speculation it is withdrawing from the UK by stating that the company is “staying by your side”.
