Get on board !

It seems the focus is on all things transport this winter – with the exciting announcements of not one, but two new routes for Albury Airport and the Visit Albury Wodonga tram turning heads across Melbourne. We encourage you to join the party and consider creating a Deal via Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) and make the most of the Albury Wodonga buzz.

Connecting with Canberra and Gold Coast

It's now even easier for business and leisure travellers to fly into our cities, with the recent announcement by FlyPelican of a new Canberra to Albury service operating as an exclusive trial for 6 months, commencing from the week of 28 August. There will be three weekly flights on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday afternoons.

In more big aviation news for our destination, Bonza have announced their newest direct flight service from Gold Coast to Albury beginning in late November, along with the addition of a third weekly service between Albury and the Sunshine Coast.

Business and Conference update

What we're up to
Momentum and interest from conference organisers continues to be strong with eight destination submission bid requests in the last month. So far, four have been successful, three are awaiting outcome and the one unsuccessful was due to capacity limitations.

In the past month, three events with over 89 delegates were held locally with an estimated economic impact of over $20,000. Albury Wodonga is hosting five events in August, with 798 delegates and an estimated economic impact of $900,000. The largest is the NSW Deputy Principals Association Conference commencing on 30 August for three days with 500 delegates – make sure to welcome them.
