New Zealand MRTB

The New Zealand Medical Radiation Technologists Board have ‘thanked’ the medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals for providing the safe delivery of essential services in New Zealand during COVID-19. Of particular note;

The MRTB Board recognises that throughout the course of the pandemic, practitioners may have had difficulty accessing the usual CPD channels. This recognition is reflected in the decision not to undertake a CPD audit for the 2021 year. The requirements for the 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2023 trimester remain the same but if a practitioner is unable to complete the required 60 CPD over the duration of the trimester the Board will exercise leniency. Please read the July newsletter for additional information.

Adapting Education

During these unpredictable times, the education team have been continually monitoring the situation and working to ensure that COVID-19 has minimal effects on completing your course with ASUM. Whether you are studying the DDU, CCPU or DMU, here are just some of the changes we have put in place to make sure you can keep moving forward;

  • Offered extensions and deferrals, free of charge and without academic penalty on all courses (where applicable)
  • Provided remote proctoring for the DDU Module 1 assessments
  • Organising alternate exam assessment venues to accommodate candidates unable to travel due to border closures.
  • Offering a mock assessment workshop to assist candidates preparing for the DMU Case Based Discussions.

Thank you for your patience whilst we continue to work through the changes and adapt options to ensure you can continue with your studies.
