COVID-19 Alert

Although some restrictions have been eased in South Australia with regard to COVID-19, we continue to urge you to remain vigilant as you plan for worship and coordinate events and activities. A reminder to please visit the COVID-19 Update page of the Synod website for all of the latest details. 


Surrender Leadership Gathering

Due to the on-going lockdown restrictions in Melbourne, the Surrender Leadership Gathering event will now be taking place online with a choice of two dates and times. You are invited to connect with other leaders in raising up Christians to follow Jesus’ radical call to the margins.

Do you have the interest and skills to become the Historical Society's new Secretary? This is an interesting and important volunteer position with the Secretary being a member of the Executive and of the Council of the Uniting Church South Australia Historical Society (UCSAHS).

Event Highlight

Boundaries is a nine week course about setting healthy boundaries for rich productive relationships, based on Biblical principles. Held on Tuesday evenings from 7.00 pm, with a light meal of soup and rolls provided from 6.15pm. Commencing August 24th to October 19th, 2021.

Event Highlight

Poetry and Paintings is being held on Saturday 21st August from 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm at Pilgrim Uniting Church, 12 Flinders Street, Adelaide. Priscilla Corbell-Moore’s debut solo exhibition is a homelessness fundraiser, with live painting, music and a poetry recital. Online auction will also run until August 21st.

Prayer Points

This week we pray for:

  • For the people of Haiti as they come to terms with the devastating impact of the recent earthquake
     
  • For the people of Afghanistan and for peace amidst international unrest
     
  • For those struggling with their mental health and for those that continue to be impacted by the on-going isolation due to the global pandemic.

 


Reflection

Solomon’s dream expressed his true nature (1 Kings 3:5-14). Anxious and overwhelmed, with truth and humility he acknowledged this with God, requesting wisdom to do the mission before him. Embedded in his very being, was the truth-filled understanding of God’s call to - love God, love others.
