New Women's Labor Laws

DLI wants to remind you. The new law called the Women's Economic Security Act (WESA) was created in Minnesota to close the gender pay gap and make work environments safer for working mothers. With more women working in our trade and industry, there are several new provisions of which we should all be aware. These include designated places for nursing mothers on construction sites, plus additional breaks and restrictions for pregnant women. Read more >>


EPA to Revisit Lead Test Kits

Good news for remodelers! After years of pressure from NAHB – the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been told to get to the bottom of the issue of faulty lead paint test kits with a series of public meetings that will start in early June. Read more >> 


Update: Eggs and Economics Speaker Change

Due to a scheduling conflict, David Crowe will be unable to appear at our Eggs and Economics event on July 9. Appearing in David’s place will be Robert Dietz, PH.D., Vice President for Tax and Market Analysis for the NAHB.

Robert has published academic research on the private and social benefits of homeownership, federal tax expenditure estimation, and other housing and tax issues in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Urban Economics, Journal of Housing Research, the National Tax Journal and the NBER Working Paper series. 
He's a pretty good speaker, too!
