On re-opening, Stanton Library will be subject to additional health and safety measures, and we thank you for your understanding as we adjust to the new requirements. The first stage of opening at Stanton will be for “Browse and Borrow” for members only, including lobby collection of reserved items. Entry to the library is for Shorelink Library members only, and you must bring your library card with you when you visit. You will be asked to show your library card for scanning on entry to the library, and you will need your card with you to borrow items using the self-check machines. Staff and customers must practise safe social distancing and customers are asked to use hand sanitiser before entering the building. Please stay home if you are feeling unwell. We encourage customers to keep their visit short by reserving items online or by phone, for quick collection in the library lobby. There will be no reservation fees applied throughout June. Our study, seating and reading areas, as well as computers and photocopiers, will not be available for use. If you are not yet a member, or have misplaced your card, please contact the library prior to visiting to arrange a replacement. You can also contact the library to make an appointment for research assistance or technology help. Council Projects- Have Your Say North Sydney CBD Public Domain Strategy Council is working to create a more engaging and pedestrian focused CBD that offers a greater range of activities and unique public spaces for workers, residents, students and visitors. The strategy is currently on public exhibition and Council is seeking community feedback until 22 June. All pain and no gain A community campaign is underway to increase awareness of the impacts of the NSW Government’s Western Harbour Tunnel and Warringah Freeway Upgrade projects. While submissions in response to the Environmental Impact Statement closed on 30 March 2020, it’s not too late to ask for the project to be changed and funding provided for mitigation measures. Council has made a submission on the EIS, but we are just one voice. Thousands of voices need to be heard if changes are to be made to the project. This project will have a negative impact on our community - on your quality of life - from the air you breathe through to the level of traffic in local streets. . All of the North Sydney LGA will be negatively impacted in some way. Stanton Library
