Men Speak out on Migration and Gender RolesMonday 28 September, 1pm – 2pm Online via ZoomMelbourne Social Equity Institute presents Dr Dalal Smiley and Dr Mohajer Hameed who will share their research experiences with engaging men to speak out on migration, gender roles and explore some of the research implications in relation to post-settlement adjustments, family violence, separation and divorce and service needs of newly arrived families. Further details and registration here.CALD Cancer Screening Project - seeking participantsUniversity of Melbourne. The University of Melbourne, the Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health, Centre for Culture, Ethnicity & Heath and VCS Foundation are undertaking a project to understand how culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) groups engage in breast, bowel and cervical Screening Programs. Findings from this study will lead to the development of more effective communication tools and initiatives to improve participation among under-screened CALD groups. The project is inviting bicultural workers and multicultural organisations working with any language or cultural group across Australia to participate in an interview (by phone or internet zoom, skype etc.). The interview will take about 45 minutes. Webinar: Delivering culturally responsive telehealthThe Telehealth Victoria Community of Practice (COP) provides information, resources, online forums and workshops for anyone interested in telehealth, primarily in Victoria. The COP recently hosted a webinar on Delivering quality and culturally responsive telehealth services. The focus of this panel discussion was delivering quality and culturally responsive telehealth services to people from culturally and linguistically diverse populations, through the pandemic and beyond. Training and Professional DevelopmentSelf-Advocacy Online Training for ethnic people with a disability in Bendigo: Diversity and Disability is a self advocacy program supporting CaLD people with a disability to speak up for themselves and be more independent in their lives.
