Until May 10 at LaM, a large retrospective of the Swiss artist Aloïse Corbaz (1886–1964), Aloïse Corbaz en Constellation, is accompanied by a full-colour programme and features nearly 250 artworks and documents, including the self-taught artist's masterpiece, the Cloisonné de théâtre (1950–51), a 14-metre-long illustrated scroll.

EOA CONFERENCE

This year's International European Outsider Art (EOA) Conference will take place from May 28 – June 1 in Sicily, Italy. Titled Heterotopias: Outsider Environments, the itinerant conference will be curated by the Osservatorio Outsider Art. Chaired by Thomas Röske, other speakers will include Eva di Stefano, Roger Cardinal and Leslie Umberger.

Until July 8 at the American Folk Art Museum, When the Curtain Never Comes Down explores performance art by the self-taught, documenting the practices of 27 artists, spotlighting the ceremonies, rituals and other expressive actions in which they engage. More than 275 works are shown in a variety of media including handmade clothing, mobile sculptures and ephemeral installations.
