Top Outdoor Spot competition winners announced
An astonishing sunset, a creative drawing of Cape Reinga and a poem capturing the essence of a wilderness swimming spot have taken top honours in this year’s Top Outdoor Spot competition. The competition ran on the New Zealand Walking Access Commission's Both Sides of the Fence education website from 1 February to 8 May 2016.

Upgraded Walking Access Mapping System coming soon
Enjoying New Zealand’s stunning outdoors will soon be even easier. The New Zealand Walking Access Commission is launching a new version of its free nationwide Walking Access Mapping System later this month to make it simpler to plan trips into the outdoors.

Interactive map shows hundreds of access cases across New Zealand
The Commission has developed an interactive map that displays more than 800 access-related cases it has been involved in around the country. The web map highlights just some of the 3,000 cases the Commission has worked on since 2011.

Living Streets Aotearoa awarded $1,500 to improve Karaka Bay track
Living Streets Aotearoa has received $1,500 from the Enhanced Access Fund to assist with the design and installation of signs to mark public access on a little-known track from Nakora Road to Karaka Bay Road in Wellington.
